New York—On December 3, 2025, Hack The Box (HTB) unveiled a groundbreaking innovation in cybersecurity readiness: HTB AI Range. This cutting-edge, AI-powered cyber range is the first of its kind, specifically designed to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of autonomous AI security agents in real-world scenarios. However, they faced considerable limitations when it came to more complex, multi-step challenges, where human teams excelled. These findings underscore the necessity for continued investment in training both AI and human operatives, especially as adversaries increasingly leverage AI for malicious activities.

Scaling Defense in an AI-Driven Landscape

Hackers are already using AI technologies to amplify their offensive efforts, sending thousands of automated requests at a speed that outpaces traditional defenses. The response to this evolving threat landscape must similarly involve AI-powered defenses. Therefore, HTB AI Range empowers cybersecurity professionals to enhance their strategies by developing skills that enable them to effectively counter AI-enabled threats.

This comprehensive learning journey aims to equip cybersecurity professionals with the necessary skills to evaluate, test, and harden AI systems effectively.

Launching in Q1 2026, the new AI Red Teamer Certification will crown this educational pathway. Collaboratively developed with Google, this certification positions HTB as the exclusive provider aligned with Google’s Secure AI Framework (SAIF). By focusing on end-to-end assessment and exploitation of AI systems, the program establishes a global benchmark for AI security expertise.
