According to Perez, “NVIDIA solutions are fundamental to all the technologies we develop.” He emphasized that the acceleration provided by NVIDIA’s graphics processing units (GPUs), algorithms, and frameworks expedites results in ways previously unimaginable.

One of the standout panels, “Sovereign AI in Action,” explored how various stakeholders—startups, academia, and AI hubs—are joining forces to push the boundaries of AI innovation. Their discussions highlighted tools such as NVIDIA NeMo software and NVIDIA NIM microservices, showcasing how these resources are helping to nurture a specialized talent pool.
Brazil’s Expanding AI Ecosystem
The vibrant atmosphere of the event was further underscored by the growing AI ecosystem in Brazil. A notable statistic presented was that there are over 1,000 NVIDIA Inception startups operating in the country. Additionally, 40 Brazilian universities are now collaborating with NVIDIA, fostering talent and innovation in AI research. As a point of reference, Brazil boasts around 19,000 NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute trainees, emphasizing the increasing involvement and training of local talent in AI.
The government’s investment of approximately $4 billion through 2028 is set to enhance the country’s AI infrastructure. This initiative targets various sectors, from improving public services to fostering business innovation and establishing regulatory governance processes.
Industry-Specific Innovations
At the event, a range of innovative applications within the fields of healthcare, agriculture, finance, and manufacturing were showcased. Companies like Amadeus AI presented advanced techniques for fine-tuning LLMs to adapt to specific domains and languages. Their emphasis on cost-effective fine-tuning pipelines using NVIDIA GPUs illustrated the delicate balance between performance and scalability.
Another notable presentation came from Langflow, which provided insights on best practices for evaluation and governance through architecture patterns combined with NVIDIA technologies. Similarly, WideLabs focused on the development of sovereign AI platforms across Latin America, emphasizing national dataset initiatives and applications that adhere to stringent safety and governance requirements.
Rodrigo Malossi, cofounder and CTO of WideLabs, expressed how beneficial it was for his team to gain a deeper understanding of the NVIDIA NeMo framework and other initiatives aimed at large-scale sovereign AI projects.
Future Prospects
As the event demonstrated, NVIDIA’s developer ecosystem in Brazil is set to continue driving innovation while supporting the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan. Focus areas will likely include LLM development, healthcare advancements, and revolutionizing financial services.
Furthermore, NVIDIA has partnered with Claro, a telecom provider founded in Brazil, as the first NVIDIA Cloud Partner in Latin America. This partnership aims to accelerate the development and deployment of sovereign AI across the region.
