Sources close to the company suggest that this chip, internally referred to as the B30A, could outpace the current H20 model being sold in China. Utilizing the company’s latest Blackwell design, this chip is expected to offer enhanced capabilities while maneuvering through the complex landscape of US-China tech relations.

Recently, former US President Donald Trump hinted that advanced Nvidia chips might eventually find their way into the Chinese market. However, the current geopolitical climate remains tense. US officials are apprehensive about allowing China access to advanced AI technologies, which could have far-reaching implications in various fields including national security.

Nvidia has publicly stated that their product offerings are developed with government regulations in mind, emphasizing that their intentions are purely commercial. In a recent statement, they said, "We evaluate a variety of products for our roadmap so that we can compete to the extent that governments allow."

The RTX6000D is designed to perform just below the restrictions imposed by new US export regulations, utilizing standard GDDR memory with a bandwidth of 1,398 gigabytes per second. Small shipments of this chip are anticipated to reach Chinese clients in September, continuing Nvidia’s aim to capture a share of the lucrative market.
