According to Google’s latest Environmental Report, the company has seen its total electricity demand more than double from 2020 to 2024. Despite this growth, their achievement regarding 24/7 carbon-free energy has stagnated. While data centers recorded 67% dependency on renewable energy in 2020, that figure slightly declined to 66% last year.
