Traditional Software Composition Analysis (SCA) has long focused on inspecting dependency manifests, libraries, and container images. However, this method falls short when it comes to identifying malicious loader logic specifically within AI repositories. The Call for Enhanced Security Measures

Sakshi Grover, a senior research manager for cybersecurity services at IDC, emphasized the need for a paradigm shift in how we approach security in AI. The IDC’s November 2025 FutureScape report highlighted an essential recommendation: by 2027, it’s projected that 60% of agentic AI systems should include a bill of materials (BOM). This BOM would enable organizations to track the AI artifacts they utilize, their origins, approved versions, and whether any components contain executable instructions that could be malicious.
